The pilot project workshop took place from 14th to 15th of June 2022 at the production plant of Kautex Textron located in Tessenderlo, Belgium. Kautex Textron is one of the main Tier One automotive suppliers for plastic fuel tank systems and one of the industrial partners of the KnowlEdge project.
During the first day of the project meeting all participants were invited to join a highly interesting plant tour which was accompanied by detailed plant and process specific information. This allowed all attendees to gain in-depth insights into the production processes as a basis for the further analysis of the process data with AI-based methods.
As part of this meeting, the participants have intensively discussed production data from real production processes as well as simulation processes. In particular the alignment between the synthesized and real world turns out to be challenging.
After a long period of online meetings and remote work due the COVID pandemic, this face-to-face workshop was a great success for all 17 participants from the different project partners with industrial, technical or research background. Not only an action plan for the next steps was defined, but also personal relationships were intensified and thus a basis for a deeper cooperation of the different partners of this EU-funded project was created.
